I’m brand-new here and was delighted to find this essay. Your observation, “We get so accustomed to the beauty all around us, we sometimes need to be startled by the beauty of somewhere else.” Has set me to reflecting on the travels of many friends and the gifts they bring back to us who are armchair travelers. Now I’m seeing their stories and photos as true gifts, enriching our circle with new energy and creative spirit. I feel inspired to explore ways that their offerings can add another dimension to our gatherings and friendships. Thank you!
