I wrote a “long list of options” for those moments during the day when my brain is too tired to make decisions. It was a combination of tiny tasks to address an overwhelming task (and I overwhelm easily) beside items that are always an option but will not rise to meet me when my brain has halted. I looked at it again today, and found that I have been working from this list w/o referencing it. Just the writing of it supported about two weeks. Thanks for tickling the memory and reminding me to make this a habit.
Ahhh wow reading this list brought tears to my eyes!! I was just writing in my journal (just a few minutes ago!!) how I’ve started drinking tea again in the last few weeks after going years without even wanting any (which, of course, happened to coincide with the birth of my daughter and being in total survival mode) and how it feels like the longest out breath to come back to little daily joys, things as simple as a cup of peppermint tea.

Snuggle-lovings with my dog, of course!
Cup of tea- that first cup in the early morning, birds chorusing- yum 😋
Sit outside, at least 5 minutes
Laugh, if not, I try to do laugh therapy with a loved one
Deep hug my beloved
Meditate, even 10 minutes
Read a poem
Write at least one line of poetry or a small bit of revision
Pause & remember the good things in my life
Nap
I don’t get to these all & somedays I need more of them to balance out my day. 😊
